Jeremiah 51:5-7

International Standard Version

⁵Indeed, Israel and Judah haven’t been
    abandoned^[a] by their^[b] God,
by the Lord of the Heavenly Armies,
    although their land is full of guilt
        against the Holy One of Israel.”

⁶Flee from Babylon,^[c]
    and each of you, escape with your life!
Don’t be destroyed^[d] because of her guilt,
    for it’s time for the Lord’s vengeance.
        He is paying back what is due to her.
⁷Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord’s hand,
    making the whole earth drunk.
The nations drank her wine,
    therefore the nations have gone mad.
